Rocking your world friday

It's that time of the week again to list all your positives and gratefuls in RYWF. If you don't know what I am talking about pop over to Virginia's blog and have a look.

* On Saturday my sister, Paige and I spent the day making wedding invites for my sisters wedding next year. We had sort of a production line going and managed to get all of them made by 4pm.

* On Sunday my sister invited us to spend the day with them at the beach. We went to sea grove bay which is normally quite quiet as its out of the way of the tourist path. It was packed though, with everybody arriving on their boats and wading with all their beach and BBQ stuff through the sea! I had my nephew with us as well and we had a great day swimming in the sea and making sandcastles. I even went in the sea after some clothes swapping with my sister as I had not taken a swim suit.

Caleb, me, Zoe, Shelby and my sisters fiance Alan

Caleb, Stewart and Tristan. I took this photo to show how tall the boys have got.

Tristan's finished sandcastle which got loads of people stopping and commenting!

* On Monday we finally got our hedges cut. This has been an ongoing saga for the last year with our housing association. When we had to move out last year the hedges got so huge that when we moved back we couldn't manage to cut them our selves. They came and cut one side for us and then found a wasps nest and never returned to do the other side. I kept ringing and they kept saying they were coming and never did. I started ringing them again in April and its taken till now to get something done. They cut 8 foot off the top of the hedges on Monday so now I have sunlight in my garden again. It's up to us to keep them cut now but as we can actually reach them now that won't be a problem....that's if Stu doesn't cut through the cable of the hedge trimmer again!

* Because we had lots of cuttings to burn, on Tuesday evening we decided to light the new fire pit I had bought a few weeks ago at Tesco (half price £12.50...bargain!). We bought marshmallows and made an evening of it. Shelby had her friend round and we invited Zoe and Alan up. Caleb kept telling the girls to be careful of the fire as they were dancing round so we made him fire marshal and made him wear a high vis jacket! It is true that the yellow jacket makes the power go to your head!
It was a simple but really enjoyable evening and once everyone had gone Caleb and me just sat and watched the mesmerising flames.

* I have spent several evenings carrying on with my fairy costume for the big secret fairy party next weekend and then all day yesterday making my sisters costume for her as she can't sew! I did get her making some silk flowers with a needle and thread though.

*I bought a new crystal on Friday, a lovely huge rose quartz point.

* Uniform shopping on Friday as well. I hate doing this, it stresses me out and costs so much money but luckily Paige came with me and we had the kids all sorted out in a couple of hours...thanks Lady P!

* Double coupons at Tesco gave me £20 off the uniform shop so I am extremely grateful for that.

*Great GCSE results for my nephew...well done Rhys! Great half GCSE results for Caleb as well. Caleb is in his final GCSE year this year but as they are taken in stages now he has done parts of them and got his marks..A*'s and B's for Physics, history and English. All the 'parts' get put together at the end for his overall results next year.

*I managed to get some art work done this week, inspired by Flora Bowley's new book which happened to fall into my Amazon shopping basket a few weeks ago.

I really enjoyed doing this, just being really free and not caring how it turned out and am pleased with the finished result.

* I have just finished reading this book which I bought in Glastonbury a couple of weeks ago.

It's a wonderful true story of how the author went searching for the existence of faeries in England, Ireland and Scotland and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I then found her website with all the photos she took while exploring so it was lovely to see the images I had only imagined while reading the book.

Well that's it for me this week folks, thanks for popping by,

Rocking your world Friday

It is Rocking your world Friday again...where is the time going? I am posting late again, sorry, and am linking up with our host Virginia. Pop over to her blog and see what has been rocking every ones world this week. This is a chance each week to list all your positives and things you are grateful for.

* On Sunday my Mum, sister, Shelby and me went to the Isle of Wight Healing festival, held at Ventnor Botanical gardens. There were lots of things going on like Belly dancing displays and hula hooping, which Shelby loved. There were many people there promoting different healing therapies and you could have a session for a donation. We all had a tarot reading from a lady called Elizabeth who runs the meditation group we go to. It was a very positive and uplifting reading and she was spot on about so many things. The weather was lovely so I am grateful for a lovely afternoon spent with my family, just chillin.

* I am grateful for having had two weeks off work. I have not had any time off since I started work for Equals 3 years ago. I was very good and didn't check my work emails at all!

* I am grateful that Stu had 2 weeks off work with me so we could spend some time together. We didn't get up to much just sitting in the garden with the kids, playing poker with the kids, walking the dogs, playing Rockband, going to the beach and going bowling.

The 'PRO' bowler! He has his own bowling balls and shoes and plays in a league so obviously he wiped the floor with us!

He's so proud of his balls!!!!

 My strike dance!

 Shelby looking pretty!

* We have been making fairy costumes this week for a secret summer fairy party that we are going to. Our lovely friend Menna (the fairy lady) has been helping us. I will post pictures when they finished. We are altering dresses we already had for a handfasting a few years ago, so we are going to be more like Renascence fairy's! I am so grateful for Mennas help, she is so talented!

* On Monday, the wonderful Menna took Paige and me through the secret fairy woods at the bottom of her garden. These are privately owned and she managed to get permission to take us in. They were amazingly beautiful with such old trees. It was lovely and unspoilt as they are private. I really felt like I was in another world.

* Making my sisters wedding invites. They look fab and didn't take nearly as look as I thought they would. It was lovely just sitting together with everyone with a sort of production line going on!

*Took the kids to Firestone Copse on Friday with Paige. It was lovely wondering through the beautiful woods. Paige and Caleb decided to have a sword fight with some was all fun until Caleb bashed Paige's knuckle in!

Keeping out of reach of Paige's dog, Gracie who had just jumped into a huge stagnant pond and wanted to shake all over everybody!

This tree is amazing, I take photos of the kids standing inside it every time we go! It's trunk has split into seven pieces and it was featured on the programme coast to coast.

 Sitting by the salt marsh

Caleb, doing his best NOT to fall in for fear of having to walk home on his own!

Shelby wearing Caleb's hat and trying to look like an explorer

 Let the fight begin!

I don't think their sticks are very evenly matched, seeing as Caleb is holding my very sturdy walking staff and Paige has a rotten branch that Caleb found on the floor for her!

Gracie was getting a bit worried about her Mum being attacked!

Caleb, really going for it, just before he bashed Paige!

*I spent a whole day this week making this Shared journal for a new group I will be attending. The hope is that this sharing book will become like a book of women's wisdom with every group member contributing to it with poems, quotes, words of wisdom, art, healing remedies, homemade crafts, recipes etc. I am very excited to be going to this new group and wanted to contribute something for us to share.
I made the book out of canvas which I first stitched into the cover shape and then decorated. It has loads of pages inside and a canvas pocket to store things in.

Well, thats it for this week,
thanks for popping by,

Rocking your world Friday

What a rocking week it has been!
I am linking this up with Virgina for rocking your world Friday.

* First up, we went to the beach Friday night for a BBQ with my sister, her partner and my nephew. We walked out on the sand banks collecting shells, the kids ran around playing and we cooked some burgers. Simple pleasures but we had a great time.

Rhys looks impressed with his new boobs!

* On Monday it was my darling girls 12th birthday. We bought her clothes as that was what she asked for, Caleb bought her some mini hair straighteners and a hairdryer and she had lots of other bits and pieces.
We took the kids out to lunch to celebrate and then had family round for tea and birthday cake in the afternoon. Shelby had a sleepover spa party on the Saturday night before her birthday. Me and my friend Dawn painted all the kids nails, they had face packs, watched movies and ate popcorn and birthday muffins that Dawn had made.
 Pleased with her prezzies

*On Tuesday me and Paige were up at 2.30am to get ready and catch the 4.30am boat to the mainland for our Glastonbury trip. I had been so excited about this trip, three days away in Jenni the camper van, no kids, no hubby, no dogs and pennies to spend on whatever I wanted!
We drove off the ferry at 5am and started on our way through the new forest. We had two near misses with Bambi's trying to jump in front of Jenni which was scary, but Paige managed to swerve and miss them both times.
We arrived in Glastonbury by 7.30am and waited for our fave cafe, Heaphys to open so we could have breakfast. When it finally opened at 9am it had changed hands and gone all up market-no more veggie breakfast but I could have had scrambled egg on a paneni(sp?) for six quid?!! Whats that about? We found another cafe, had breakfast then started our shopping.
So many beautiful things to look at!
The three days were spent shopping, chillin at the campsite, more shopping and relaxing at the Chalice well. We wanted to go and find Brigid's well and the two old oak trees Gog and Magog but it pored with rain for the first two days so we didn't get a chance.
We got accosted by Gypsy's in the high st and between us ended up paying £7 for some plastic flowers and a whole load of gypsy luck!
We left Glasto on the Thursday afternoon and headed to Avebury ring. We wandered around the stones, leaving little blessings in the nooks and crannies of the stones. We went back to Jenni at six to move her to another car park as the one we were in shut at 6.30 and we were meeting our friend Sarah at 7pm. And Jenni would not start! Paige kept turning the key and there was nothing, not even a protesting whine-so much for £7 worth of Gypsy luck! Paige rang her hubby and he didn't know what could be wrong with her so we had to ring the AA who said they would be with us by 7.15. We made a coffee and waited. We spoke to the woman who came to lock the gates of the car park and she said she would leave them open for us so if the AA got us going we would be able to get out.We had to cancel our meet up with Sarah as we didn't know what would happen with the AA, we both expected to be towed home. Sorry again Sarah! By 7.15 there was no sign of the AA and Paige said she was going to try and start her again-and she started first time. We rang the AA back and they said if she was running then get moving and they would cancel the garage they had coming out to us.
We took it really slow on the way home and when we reached the ferry we were really worried about turning the engine off in case she wouldn't start again. We were an hour early for our ferry though and couldn't risk her overheating so had to turn her off. Luckily she started for us when the ferry came in! We got home around 11.30pm, tired but full of the spiritual energy from our travels.

We filled our new offering bowls with all our new crystals and water from the well and then sat and charged them up. The energy at the Chalice well is incredible.
