Art journal pages

I have been playing in my art journal over the last couple of weeks. I have been looking at loads of art journal sites and found a lovely one called willowing.org I shamelessly copied a couple of her faces for future inspiration. I love the colours and style of her faces.

The two photos above I copied but the page underneath I did all by myself!

I have found loads of inspiration in this great book. Its filled with artists personal art journal pages.

I worked on these two pages on Sunday and Monday. I painted the pages first with acrylics, added some torn pages and painted again and then used PP or magazines for the collage. I used stamps on the pink butterfly one and then used watercolour pencils to colour in and do the journalling.
I used gel medium to stick the collage down and then went over the whole page with it. I also added a bit of stickles.

My sister picked me up an expedit unit from Ikea on sunday! I have wanted one for ages but had to do some major tidying, throwing out, and moving around to fit it into my little craft room! I bought 3 of the Drona baskets for it as they are only £2.99 each. I managed to fill the baskets with crap and they hide it beautifully! I have put my Cricut on the top to use as my die cut area!

Thanks for looking,
Sam x

Hiya Sam,

Thanks for your comments on my blog today. Really pleased you enjoyed the demo. I am getting better at not worrying too much about them now. I enjoy crafting with you all which takes the pressure off a lot.

Also, I wanted to say on Friday how beautiful the painting was in your house (the one you previously posted on here). It was stunning up close. The photo didnt pick up the shimmer and it was just incredible.

You are a fantastic artist ;0)

Also, in other news, I think the SU order will be here either tomorrow or Thursday. I hope you dont mind but I added a couple of bits to it that I needed for my Saturday card class. So it is being delivered to me at work. I will drop it right round to you asap when it arrives here.

Thank you again for your lovely comments,

Sarah

P.S. I've so got to get one of those IKEA units. They are fantastic! Maybe I'll add that on to my ever increasing 'I'm turning 30 so its a special birthday' list for the other half ;0) xxxx

Your pages are gorgeous Sam. I'm doing a Suzi Blu class at the moment that are similar style faces too. I love the one you did with the wings and your collaged pages. I had to click for a closer look at those. I'm going to check out that willowing page right after this. Thanks for the link :)

I have a similar shelving unit to the Expedit but mines an eBay job and it's the 8 cubed tall version. Stores SO much. I like the look of the height of yours too. Hmm. We have an Ikea trip coming up to look at beds for the girls - may have to go for a sneaky peek at the shelving ;)

Thank you for your lovely comment on my art journals - if you Google "digital collage sheets" you should find all kinds that you can download immediately. My favourite sources are Artchix a USA company and Paper Whimsy. Have fun!
