I used October Afternoon papers and stickers and a range of thickers for this one. My 6 loves are, 1-Art journalling, 2-Dylusion spray inks, 3-Dylusions paints, 4-The big bang theory (soooo funny!), 5-Jacob from the twilight films, 6- Nassi Gorring (Indonesian fried rice).

Scary zombie girl at the ghost walk we did at halloween! She freaked the hell out of me on the walk, she just kept appearing everywhere standing in the shadows with her head to one side like that!! Big cheat with this one as I used the poster that advertised the walk as my background, (sorry Paige I was trying to get it done quickly!)

Back from the retreat

I am home from the Wight craft circles 3rd retreat and surrounded by a pile of craft stuff that needs packing away!

I had a wonderful time and managed to get 8 LO's done. I bought way too much stash from Katies wonderful shop (cre8tive online) and it was great to catch up with all the ladies that come to us from the mainland, Deb's, Julia, Anna, Nicole, Diane, Alison and Katie and to meet Julia (WOYWDW Julia over at Stamping ground) and Linda who attended our retreat for the first time. I must say we have the best ladies at our retreats!!! Everyone had a great weekend, loads of fab scrapping was done and lots of laughter was had (especially the story I cannot repeat that Alison told us, which had me rushing to the loo for fear of wetting myself!!). Everybody has already booked up for our 4th retreat in February.

Unfortunately I didn't remember to take any photos! Paige took a few which I expect she will post on our Wight circle blog. We normally go out all together on the Saturday afternoon and get some silly group shots but as we had torrential rain for most of the weekend we didn't get the chance.

Paige and I would like to say a big thankyou to Katie for bringing her shop so us Isle of Wighters could purchase and drawl over some wonderful stash (most craft shops on the Island are dismal!) and also a huge thanks to all of our lovely ladies who make the retreat such a pleasure to run and bring such inspiration and friendship to us.

Here are the LO's I completed (sorry they are not in order, blogger was not playing nice!). I had saved quite a few challenges from the Wight craft circles scrap with us challenge to complete at the retreat. Paige and I also worked on a couple of LO's for our upcoming scrap with us so I am giving you a bit of a sneak peak!

I was going to do 10 things about me, but couldn't think of 10 interesting things so ended up doing 10 things I'd like to be!

My family make me happy and as Mr Ladybird (Paiges husband Trav!) just did some lovely family portraits for us I had to use one of them for this LO.

Another of Trav's photos. We don't have many traditions in our family, unless it's xmas ones, but the kids and me do have 'I love you' sayings that we use all the time!

This Photo was also taken by Trav at my Dad's 'I'm in remission ' party! He was diagnosed in January this year with non hodgekins lymphoma, went through chemo and was told he was in remission in August so we had a big party to celebrate. The journalling will be about how scared I was and how pleased we are that he came through it. I made a tag to pull out from behind the photo so the journalling is not on view.

Photo taken at the handfasting. This Lo is about how I need to be photos and I need to scrap them! I hate photos of me but I have to remember that my kids will want photos of me when Im gone. At the retreat Julia told me that when my kids look at photos of me they will just see their mum, they wont see all my insecurities like I do- so thank you Julia, i will remember that and try and be in more photos!

Scrap with us wk 24 was accsessorize

My DD had her ears pierced for her 10th birthday a couple of weeks ago. She has wanted them done for ages but each time I agree she changes her mind! I didn't think she'd go through with it this time but she was very brave and only whimpered a little! When I phoned to make the appointment the lady said to me 'we have a special on today, double piercing.' 'No, no I said she only wants one set of holes.' ' No' the lady said, 'what I mean is, there are two of us today so we pierce both ears at the same time, for minimum discomfort.' I thought this was a really good idea as seeing my DD's face when they pierced her ears, I don't know if she would have let them do the other one, then she would have been a bit lopsided!

PP was Echo Park and the journalling circle was My Minds Eye. My DD came up with the title which I so didn't get until I was sticking it down!

Wk 25 was Guilty pleasures

I had no idea what to do with this one. I thought about my guilty pleasures, taking a little nap on the sofa under my handmade quilt when no-ones about, my passion for peanut M&M's, my addiction to Twighlight, but I didn't know how to scrap any of that. We went out for lunch with the kids on friday and ended up having a pudding each as well. We never normally buy puddings if we eat out, it bumps the bill right up! When they arrived they looked so yummy that I took a photo of them!

PP was Cosmo Cricket material girl and October afternoon.

Wk 26 was Life's a beach

I took this photo on monday which was our first trip to the beach this summer! Living on an Island with the beach surrounding us, we tend to take it for granted. I must admit to prefering the beach in the winter, walking the dog on it when there are no holiday makers about!

Our friend from Sweden was down with her two boys, and my nephew was here for a week aswell though so we made an exception and took them to the beach. I love this photo with all their bums in the air while they concentrated so intently on digging their way through to the earths core!

PP was Echo Park and KI lace card stock. I must apologise for the photos as it is so dark and dismal today It was hard to get my LO without the flash bleaching out the photos.

Just a quickie post!

'Cherry on top'

These photos are of my son showing his teams display at the Island wide Boat project competition and then enjoying the days sailing they were awarded for being the overall winners! I must admit to juggling these photos to fit the challenge, I have said in my journalling that 'the cherry on top for all the hard work was being the winners and going sailing for the day'! It sorta fits doesn't it? And I used PP with cherries on!

This is just a little gift I made for a friend this afternoon. She is teaching me Reki and shes doing my first attunement on friday. We have agreed on exchanges of energy for payment, she does this for me and I do something for her. As she has just moved house I thought I would do her a wallhanging. I think I might make her some little notecards as well.

Wk 22 Days gone by

This is a photo of my son taken last week at his leavers prom. I must confess to having a bit of a weep when he'd gone as he looked so grown up in his tux and he's leaving his lovely middle school to go to High school in September. This LO is just saying how I don't know where the time has gone, I turned my back for a minute and hes all grown up!

Wk 21 Home is where the 'soul' is

I went to Glastonbury a few weeks ago with friends for a 'spiritual' weekend! I had such a good time, so relaxing, no husband or kids to worry about! The Chalice well is one of my Fav places there, you can feel the energy of the place as soon as walk in, and the healing pool is soo cold but great for chilling your hot feet after all the shopping!

PP is Cosmo Cricker garden variety, Maya Rd chipboard and an October afternoon journal card.

WCC Crop 10.7.10

I did this LO at our monthly crop, another Glastonbury one, this time of the Abbey. Such a beautiful place, all in ruins now but still spectacular. It is the supposedly the burial place of King Arthur and Queen Guinevere. Their grave was found there in 1191 by the monks. In 1278 their bones were reinterred in a black marble tomb in the presence of King Edward 1st. When the Abbey was torn down during the reformation the tomb disappeared and has never been found.

This has not photographed well because I used some metalic acrylic paint on it. Quite a simple journal page today, I have not thought outside the box as much as my other pages, but I think thats because I did this at our monthly crop today, those little feelings of 'is it good enough' were creeping around my head because there were other people there! Stupid I know, but there you go!

If you cant see what it is, it's dandelion seeds flying on the breeze!

I found a wonderful blog last night through a link photo on CBC, its called One Blackbird (link on my bloglist). I stayed up untill 1.30am and looked at every single blog entry! This is my first attempt at an art journal and I am not sure what I am doing, but her blog inspired me. There are amazing journal pages on it and I even found a starters kit list with essensial supplies for journalling! I will definately be popping back to check out her work on a regular basis!

Today was our crop and week 17 of scrap with us which was
'I'm feeling distressed'
Not a great LO but my head is full of CBC and my art journal at the moment! I love the photo of my sister which I took last week at a reaissance festival we went to. She was so engrossed in watching the Bloodstone border morris dancers she didnt even know I'd taken the photo!

I know thoughtful is spelt wrong, it was intentional!
PP was Kaisercraft Airyfairy which I have had forever, primas, thickers, Cosmo Cricket alphas, lace and buttons. I did scrunch up the paper and tear the edges but it doesnt show that much! I also distressed the edge of the photo.

Tell me a story

I chose to do a comic strip style LO. Not much scrapbooking as such, no pretty embellishments, but I really like the way its turned out. The journalling is written a little like a childrens story. I edited the photos to add the speech and thought bubbles and then wrote the text in after I had printed them out.

Well its week 14 already on Scrap with us. We decided that the challenges were a bit too easy last week so spent most of our crop thinking up new ones!

I used a photo of my Son, Sister and brother in law standing on a little straight, narrow bridge.

The PP was all from my scrap box and the alphas are thickers and my little shoebox. All the ribbon is Anitas ribbon.

I like the fact that the photo also incorporates the challenge.

Scrap your family

Here is my LO

The photos were taken last week on Easter sunday. I used My minds eye, penny lane papers and stamps and the gorgous new Jillibean soup corragated alphas (expensive but so lush!). I scrap lifted the LO from Scrapbook trends spring 2010 magazine

It was our monthly crop yesterday and I got 2 more LO's done aswell.

This is a photo of my Dad last week on his birthday wearing his new Ben Sherman scooter t shirt we bought him.

I don't know what the paper is as I have had it for sooo long. This is another sort of scrap lift from the same mag but I have added a pull out tab which is attached to the top chipboard bracket and pulls out from behind the journalling card. My Dad's going through chemo treatment at the moment and I wanted to write something about that but didn't want it on display for everyone to see.

This is my now, teenage son, taken on his birthday a couple of weeks ago.
The PP is prima, Dude collection and the stamp which matched perfectly is stamps away.

This is my LO

This is a photo of my Grandparents.

The PP is my trusty Costco and some October afternoon. I got the lace from a local haberdashery for 50p and I made the crochet flowers (yes!!!Made!) from some very fine crochet wool my sister and I picked up yesterday from a jumble sale. The flourish stamps are Basic grey, journal stamp is PM and alpha stamps are see D's.

It's not finished yet as I need to find out the date of Grandparents wedding.

WCC challenge

This is last weeks WCC challenge, scrap from the sketch

I used scrap papers for this challenge, a range of cosmo cricket and kaisercraft (I think!), Chipboard flower and bird and little embellishment i have no idea where they are from.

I took this photo when we went for a walk to Newtown nature reserve. The boat house was really old and falling apart but had a lot of charm.

New LO's

It has been a very hectic couple of weeks so I am late posting these.

This is a photo of me cooking xmas lunch. I used my new papers from Cosmo Cricket-material girl, basic grey and thicker alphas, ribbon, 7 gypsies journalling card and a journal spot that Paige gave me.

This is my husband on xmas day with the house brick I gave him. No Im not joking, that was his prezzie! Ok theres a bit more to it...I bought him an engraved brick in the wall of the stadium of light (sunderlands footie ground). As the brick can't be removed from the stadium wall I wrote the engraved message on a house brick to give him...he was confussed untill he unwrapped the certificate!
PP is making memories falala, auntie sarahs bloomers, ticket, ribbon and a journal spot printed off the computer.

This was my surprise birthday dinner my sister did for me. I have no idea what the PP is as I got it from the lovely ladies at the retreat. The title was cut on my slice.
This is my LO for the WCC challenge, use 4 photos.

This is my document 2010 mini book. I didn't want to do a whole album as my life is just not that interesting!

Front two pages

I made 12 envelopes from Kraft paper, one for each month. I am keeping some memrobilia to put in the envelopes but I am also writing a letter every month about what I have done, how I am feeling etc.

I have a page for photos, the envelope.....

...then the back of the envelope for a calender tag and another larger photo and then another page for a list of events that month.

The months were cut out on Paiges cricut

And thats all for the moment. I will be working on this weeks WCC challenge tomorrow (Paige!!) and will hopefully get it posted on the WCC blog.
