Here is my August page for the calendar challenge over at Kates blog.
I wanted my page to reflect Lughnasadh which is a pagan celebration of the first harvest of the year. I made the corn and poppy stamps (see post below) as I couldn't find any I liked. I used Dylusion paints and sprays and various texture stamps for the background.
Check out Kates blog to see loads of other calendar pages.

Love your page, the poppies just burst off the page. How clever are you making your own stamps :) wish I could draw!!
Love it!! those poppies are just perfect.
I must admit I've never heard of that Pagan celebration. Your page is simply beautiful due mainly to your gorgeous hand made stamps which work so well. I love how the page has so much depth with the different stamps too xx
Love your August page, how clever are you making your own stamps, those poppies are amazing and just love the background.
love those stamps - hey youve given me an idea... I have some spare lino and all the cutting tools.. must try to make some like yours. love the page!
Stunning spread Sam and I love your carved stamps!! So clever.
Thanks for your visit to my blog, - you asked about napkins, - you separate the layers (a bit of a fiddle but if you blow on one of the corners they usually separate,) until you are left with a very thin printed layer of tissue. You tear whatever portion you want and then use mat medium or thinned down PVA to adhere it to your painted page. I then usually blend it in with gesso and further layers of paint. Hope this help:0)
Beautiful pages for August. Love the flowers!
This is a great spread Sam, your stamps look wonderful, too! Valerie
